Founded in 1981, the [http://www.ifgs.org/index.asp International Fantasy Gaming Society] (IFGS) is a non-profit organization that produces fantasy LARP events and campaigns.  The first IFGS event was held in the summer of 1981 in the Boulder area. The name of the organization derives from the [[Dream Park]] novels of Larry Niven and Steven Barnes, in which a futuristic theme park provides realistic role-playing adventures.  The name is used with the authors' permission.
The IFGS has chapters in Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Oklahoma, Southern California and the Pacific Northwest. Each chapter runs its own setting; there is no shared setting between chapters.


The IFGS is organized into several local chaptersAt the time of writing, six official chapters appear to exist: Atlanta, Dallas, Denver/Boulder, Oklahoma, Pacific Northwest, and Wisconsin.
