If you can you can

If you can you can (also Kan man så kan man (KMSKM) (Danish)), Du Kannst Was Du Kannst (DKWDK) (German)) is a system used in some German and Nordic larps. Characters can do only what their players can do. For example, rather than using a "pick locks" skill to open a locked door, a player must actually pick the lock. An important caveat is that actions must be able to be performed safely, and this rules out many plausible actions such as combat, difficult climbs, burning down buildings, or breaking down doors when you cannot pick the lock.

As players cannot perform magic, supernatural effects cannot be represented in this system. In Denmark, this was a driver for its spread: to prevent those playing magic-using characters from being advantaged by the rules.[1]
