Drandmir is a group within the HFS (High Fantasy Society). The HFS is a live action role playing or LARP, group that is centered around the medieval era. We are one of the many chapters through out the state of Texas and we are located in the city of Round Rock; just north of Austin, Texas.

We meet each Sunday afternoon at Balcones Community park(12017 Amherst Drive, Austin, Tx 78727). Join us around 2pm for simulated combat with safe foam weapons. Every three months, Drandmir may hold an "event" where other kingdoms/chapters of the HFS meet at a central location to play together. Fighting is offered as well as a feast and court where we dress in medieval regalia and share stories and good fun!

Game History

Drandmir began in the summer of 1996 in Georgetown, Texas, as a shire under the leadership and direction of the Kingdom of Barad Duin in Austin, and Sir Sasha Windwalker (Nathan Regener) and Dame Kaitlyn (Wendy Gray). In time the leaders of Drandmir felt they were being managed heavy handed and being treated as less than equal. As such they named themselves a "Free City State" to show that they were no longer to be directed by any other group and cut ties to said influences.

For fourteen years Drandmir met every Sunday in San Gabriel Park in Georgetown. In 2010 the city decided to build a bridge over the stretch of the park that the game was played on, and the group was blocked from use of the space. For a short time they met at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, but found it inadequate for their needs. In April 2012 the group elected to move again to Balcones Community Park in north Austin to be within easier reach of players and access to facilities.

Drandmir now meets at Balcones Community Park in north Austin on Sundays from 2 to 7.
