Stands for 'player versus player', and is used to describe when two or more Player Characters come into direct conflict with each other - usually violent and sometimes deadly. Some games, such as the Vampire: the Masquerade, explicitly allow for an expect high levels of PvP while other games discourage it. All Battle Game style games are inherently PvP. The amount of PvP in a given game is usually dependent on the player culture and themes of the game being played.
