Empire is a fantasy live-combat fest larp in the UK. It is run by Profound Decisions. The game is faction-based, with players representing various components of a fantasy empire as it defends itself against the barbarian hordes. Various institutions within the game, such as the Imperial Senate, bourse, and military council allow the player characters to direct the empire and the story.

The game has strong costume guidance and an emphasis on "coolthentic" costuming.

Rules

Characters are defined using a simple skill system, with race ("lineage") and culture providing flavour and political alignment. Characters also start with a "resource", which enables their participation in the games economic system. Character advancement is slow, with characters earning one or two XP per year - typically enough for a single skill.

Combat uses live-combat with a simple global hit points system. Calls are used to represent heroic effects and magic. Armour provides additional hit points and protection against some calls. Archery uses larpsafe arrows.

The entire rules system is Creative-Commons licensed, allowing it to be used and modified (with acknowledgement) for other games.
