Hi! I'm Metaparadox (aka Olivia M.) and I have been a theater-style LARPer since 2013, when I began to play games with the Stanford Gaming Society at Stanford University as a student (sophomore year.) Now back in my natal Northwest Connecticut, I've started a new LARP Meetup group for Northwest Connecticut, Western Massachusetts, and the bordering part of Upstate New York. It is called the Tri-Corner Live Action Roleplaying Interest Group. As of Nov. 18, 2018, the group is still in the "attracting members" stage and has yet to run any games.

I've played mostly "secrets and powers" games in the MIT Assassins' Guild style, as well as some in the original SGS/Stanford style, a few one-room parlor LARPs and experimental games, and some games sourced from outside of the Stanford and MIT communities. I've also participated in two Stanford Guild Camps (2 week MIT style LARP writing and GMing boot camps), taken part in "The Game", as run by certain Stanford dorms, twice, played a lot of dorm Assassins (unrelated to the Assassins' Guild) games, lots of Humans vs. Zombies, various scavenger hunts, Mafia/Werewolf games, and board games. Ironically, I had never played any tabletop roleplaying game until 2018.

Games I've Played (May Be Incomplete):

  • Conflux
  • Garden Station 4
  • Krazny Oktyabr
  • Final Voyage of the Mary Celeste
  • CONDITION ECHO BLUESHIFT
  • Dungeons and Delegates (twice)
  • Flight of the Dauntless
  • Particle Panic Perfect
  • A Reunion at Katmeers
  • The Wedding by the Acheron
  • Ouranos Expo
  • Maleficium
  • Pandora's Tears
  • Republic of Kallipolis
  • Neptune's Ball
  • Crisis at Castle Candy
  • Experimental/Potentially Nordic LARP Whose Name I Cannot Remember

Games I've Written and Co-Written:

  • Double Crossed
  • Blood Captives
  • Forgiveness
  • Silversiders (in progress)

Other Activities

Outside of LARP, I'm a solo developer of queer narrative video games, teach zine workshops, organize Connecticut's first and only zine fest, table at a lot of zine and craft events, run a bunch of Discord servers and Facebook groups, make lots of zines, run Ace Jam, the first and only game jam devoted to making games with asexual characters, and am in the process of organizing and editing a comics anthology. Basically, I am a massive nerd.
