The 360 degree illusion is a design ideal in larp of making the physical setting of play completely real, a "what you see is what you get" (WYSIWYG) physical environment. The term was coined by Nordic larper Johanna Koljonen.[1] While originally seen as undermining character immersion, such physical immersion is now widely accepted as enhancing it.[2] As a result, the 360 degree illusion has become a widely shared design ideal, both in Nordic larps and internationally.
