It is a non-profit incorporated society with the purpose of "encourag[ing] the hobby of gaming, including... role-playing games".<ref>SAGA Constitution, cl 2.</ref> It runs the [[Phoenix]] and [[Buckets of Dice]] conventions and offers small [[Theatre-style|theatre-style]] larps at other events throughout the year.
